The Lost Art of Glen Canyon and the San Juan River

Details: Join the members of the Colorado Archaeological Society of Grand Junction to view the presentation, “The Lost Rock Art of Glen Canyon and the San Juan River”. In 1963 when the gates of the Glen Canyon dam closed and the water of Lake Powell began to rise, scores of rock art and other archaeological sites were flooded, never to be seen again. Stephen Hughes will show an amazing presentation of over 200 colored photos of 24 archaeological sites lost forever under the waters of Lake Powell. The presentation will be on January 24, at the Redlands United Methodist Church, 6:30meet and greet and 7:00 speaker will begin. Cost is free, donations are accepted.
